ZvA provides counselling and home support (outpatient) to young people and adults with mild intellectual and/or mental disabilities in the municipalities of Leeuwarden, Tytsjerksteradiel, Dantumadiel and Noard-East Fryslân under the WMO, WLZ, Youth and Forensic schemes.
Zorg van Aafke was founded by Aafke Feenstra in 2013. After working happily in the care sector for over ten years, Aafke felt the need to do more. Her aim is to take a more personalised approach to clients and provide more targeted support. ZvA steps into a client’s world – sometimes quite literally – in order to provide them with the best possible support. ZvA is therefore known as a reputable organisation with a high level of dedication. Where other care providers stop, ZvA goes the extra mile. At ZvA, the client and their world, individual wishes and capabilities are the guiding principles for providing personalised, tailor-made care.
ZvA now consists of a team of expert colleagues. This team includes people from various professional backgrounds: a mental health care worker, a behavioural scientist, an educational support worker, a special needs teacher, a support worker for specific target groups and a quality manager. All these staff members bring their own specialities and interests to the table; from a trained animal therapist to a musician and an IT specialist. We also work with volunteers and interns. They too bring their own interests and expertise, from which clients can learn.
