De Bird Sailing Institute has been operating as a sailing school since 1965 and has long been a leader in sailing instruction.
Zeilinstituut De Bird is situated on the Idzegaasterpoel near Heeg in the water sports province of Friesland. This ‘private lake’, thanks to its sheltered location, vast expanse and absence of other vessels, is ideally suited as a training ground for beginners with little water sports experience and is spacious enough for experienced water sports enthusiasts. Its location, combined with the unique accommodation, also makes De Bird well-suited to hosting companies and groups as a sailing school.
