We’ve been looking ahead for 750 years. We keep our feet dry and our dykes strong.
We ensure appropriate water levels in ditches and lakes, monitor water quality and treat wastewater. In this way, we keep Fryslân and the Westerkwartier in Groningen safe and liveable, not just today but tomorrow too. And we must continue to do so. Because the climate is changing, sea levels are rising, and we are experiencing either more rainfall or, conversely, droughts. These changes call for an innovative approach. Together with residents, businesses and organisations, we devise smart, sustainable solutions. Always seeking the answer to that one question: ‘And what will we do about water tomorrow?’
