Weids Wonen & Slapen is a family-run business with over 40 years’ experience in the bedding industry. Based in the north of the Netherlands, in beautiful Fryslân. We believe a good relationship is more important than a quick sale. Good, sound advice, tailored to your personal needs, is therefore what we stand for.

Sustainable Business

Weids Wonen & Slapen is very conscious of its environmental footprint. In addition to using six large heat pumps to meet the heating requirements of our industrial units (totalling 10,000 m²) and offices, we have over 200 solar panels and several solar water heaters on our roofs, which cover our total energy needs. This means we operate in an energy-neutral and self-sufficient manner. We have installed two charging points in our car park to encourage electric driving. We also reuse almost all the boxes in which we receive our deliveries to ship items to our customers. We sell almost everything from our own stock, so that we can dispatch orders from a single location wherever possible. We do not send empty boxes; everything is carefully packed and, where necessary, compressed to minimise the transport load.

We use sustainable sheep’s wool balls and synthetic filling fibres, Aerelle® Blue, as filling for our pillows. These synthetic filling fibres are particularly special because they are made from, among other things, ethically recovered marine plastic and plastic bottles. These are collected by the Plastic Bank – Social Plastic – and recycled into resilient fibre balls. This creates an environmentally friendly filling material that is also wonderfully soft. This guarantees a wonderful and carefree night’s sleep.
