Visser manufactures a wide range of products, primarily designed for the internal logistics of goods on the customer’s premises. We have our own engineering department, production facilities, paint shop, assembly department, control systems department and an installation and maintenance service.
Visser was founded in 1904 as a cartwright’s workshop in Witmarsum. From 1950 onwards, the company turned its attention to mobile conveyors (known as ‘Jacob’s ladders’) and conveyor belts powered by electric motors and, in some cases, petrol engines. These mobile conveyors proved to be a success. The company moved to its current location, an industrial estate in Bolsward, next to the water tower. Even then, the main sectors for sales were agriculture and industry. Gradually, the factory premises were expanded; today, there are four halls where our machines are manufactured. We design and build logistics transport systems for virtually every product and application. We produce machines for industrial use and for agriculture.
