In Fryslân, we have been working together for ten years to build a circular economy that benefits people, the environment and the region!
Circular Friesland, with nearly 200 members – including 140 businesses, all Frisian local authorities and all knowledge and educational institutions – isn’t sitting back and waiting; it’s taking action!
This is having a visible impact: new supply chains, less waste and greater value for the region. Investment in the Frisian circular economy has generated a circular value of 10.6 per cent – the highest ever recorded worldwide.
Through projects and programmes, our members are demonstrating how we convert waste into reusable raw materials, how we build more sustainably, and how young people are being prepared for the economy of tomorrow. This is how Fryslân has become a European leader in the circular economy. And we’re going further!
