Vancore Percussion Instruments was founded in 1985 as a result of a collaboration between Pustjens Percussion Products, its owner Jan Pustjens – a percussionist with the world-renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra – and the current owner, Jan ter Heide. Both were professional percussionists and dedicated to creating innovative percussion instruments, always listening to the needs of percussionists.
The instruments produced appeared on the international percussion market under the brand name Concorde. After a period, the two owners decided to spin off the production department from PPP Amsterdam.
New company and new brand name:
The name Vancore was chosen and created to reflect its international identity. Through its collaboration with PPP, a recognised international percussion supplier, Vancore focused on innovation, development and, above all, export activities. In the initial phase, the high demand for high-tension marching instruments was the main focus of production. Within a short period, marimbas and vibraphones completed the range.
Today, Vancore Percussion Instruments is a globally recognised full-range percussion manufacturer that remains fully committed to innovation for the most demanding percussionists.
