Tresoar is unrivalled in this respect, as it is the custodian of Frisian literature, history, language and culture. With the largest collection of Frisian artefacts, a museum and a Frisian academic library, it has the knowledge to inspire you. So that, in the end, you’ll become just as passionate about culture as the people of
Tresoar.

Friesland is a well-known region, both in the Netherlands and beyond. This is because it has existed for a long time and has its own language that has been well preserved. This didn’t happen overnight. The Frisians continually reconnect with one another and their own history. In short, in Fryslân we know how to build, preserve and develop a culture. We at Tresoar help to make that happen.

We have dozens of kilometres of archive material, terabytes of information and a collection of masterpieces both within and outside Fryslân. From a letter by Einstein to notes by Erasmus. Because collecting what is valuable extends beyond our region. We are keen to share our enthusiasm for culture and its value with everyone. Frisians, fans, those with an interest, and everyone who might become one. All gathered in Fryslân.

Working at Tresoar

Working at Tresoar means being part of a creative and passionate team of around 70 staff and 70 volunteers. We know each other and are easy to talk to. At Tresoar, you have plenty of opportunities for personal development, you meet lots of people and you are given plenty of freedom to organise your own time, whether that’s from home or at the office. What’s more, you work in a beautiful architectural and dynamic environment.
