We are Tienskip, a charity dedicated to bridging the gap between young people and (local) democracy.
Through project days, known as ‘Tienskipdagen’, we aim to engage with young people by setting them a democratic challenge. The young people tackle issues they see in their own communities and, through brainstorming sessions, try to come up with concrete solutions to these problems. They do this under the guidance of experts with practical experience.
Together with a group of around 150 young volunteers, we reach 10,000 young people annually across various regions in the Netherlands.
Tienskip is a foundation run by and for young people, working together to shape the democracy of tomorrow.
