Strandpaviljoen Sjoerd

Working with the wind in your hair, the sun on your face and grains of sand between your toes. That’s what it’s like to work at Strandpaviljoen Sjoerd!

Sjoerd is located on Ameland at the Nes beach entrance and was named the best beach pavilion in the Netherlands for 2022/2023 by the trade association Strand Nederland.  Thanks to its central location, guests come and go all day long and there is always a lively buzz at the pavilion. As well as being the best pavilion, Sjoerd has also been voted several times as both the best beach pavilion in the Wadden region and the most sustainable pavilion in the Netherlands. He is incredibly proud of this!

Sjoerd loves sustainability, but also fresh & honest produce. At Sjoerd’s, you can expect genuine Ameland lamb, sausages from Butcher’s Dennis Ytsma in Buren, cheeses and dairy from Jansma in Haule, beers from Ameland brewer Doeke Visser in Ballum, bread and pastries from Bakkerij De Jong in Nes, and fish from the North Sea that isn’t overfished. In other words, artisanal, local produce that we use in our homemade dishes and which you’ll find on the menu.
