Mission and Vision
Sociale Voedseltuinen Leeuwarden is an initiative designed to provide vulnerable households with a regular supply of fresh, pesticide-free fruit and vegetables. Our aim is to encourage the lowest income groups and families living below the poverty line – who struggle to make ends meet due to ever-rising costs of (healthy) living – to eat more healthily and to provide them with access to healthy food. In addition, the initiative promotes social participation, food education and community spaces, with a focus on non-profit social impact.
The foundation supports existing food gardens and initiates new Social Food Gardens in Leeuwarden in close collaboration with Stichting Sociale Voedseltuinen Nederland.

Behind Social Food Gardens Leeuwarden is a committed group of people who work every day to create a more social, sustainable and inclusive society.
