Van der Werff Shipbuilders is one of the oldest companies in Friesland. Skûtsje enthusiasts will recognise the company for, among other things, the skûtsjes from Lemmer, Earnewâld and Joure that sail in the SKS fleet.
O.H. van der Werff Shipbuilding specialises in hull construction, repair and maintenance. We build hulls for both private clients and other shipyards. In addition to steel construction, we also carry out aluminium and stainless steel welding work, including aluminium wheelhouses and stainless steel deckhouses, storage hatches, exhausts and ship’s fittings. Adjacent to the shipyard is a beautifully situated and spacious storage harbour, with both outdoor moorings for vessels up to 16 metres and dry docks for vessels up to 10 metres in length.
In addition to traditional hull construction of steel and aluminium yachts up to approx. 16 metres, we also restore classic vessels including skûtsjes, barges and bakdekkers. We have a team of five permanent staff at our shipyard in Buitensvallaat, with a long tradition in ship and yacht building.
