Orion is an international company specialising in the treatment and processing of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other hazardous halogenated substances.
The work carried out at our decontamination station involves several stages, for which we use state-of-the-art technology:
- Collection of PCB-contaminated transformers and equipment
- Draining and flushing of this equipment
- Dismantling and cleaning of these items to remove PCBs
- Sorting and processing the cleaned metal parts into scrap
- Distillation of the solvents
At our site in Drachten, we dismantle PCB-contaminated transformers and capacitors. By using advanced technology, Orion is able to recycle up to 95% of the materials.
Orion holds a full licence, enabling its staff to work with PCB-containing goods as safely as possible whilst protecting the environment and public health.
Orion is the only company in the Netherlands authorised to process PCB-containing equipment. We hold all the necessary accreditations and approvals from the Dutch government.
