12. Responsible Consumption And Production

Our ecological footprint is too large and continues to grow. Raw materials are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive worldwide. OPNIEUW! creates circular working environments in a socially responsible way. We do this by reusing furniture. Together with you, we are putting an end to increasing pollution and the exploitation of valuable areas, and we are helping to reduce global social inequality.

Every product we offer has a unique story behind it. We create beautiful new furniture from used materials and give discarded furniture a new lease of life. This isn’t just good for the planet, but also easy on the wallet. For example, we make tables from train parts and lampshades from recycled plastic. In short, 100% circular office furniture!

Do you choose ownership or temporary use? Your circular workspace is crafted by our own woodworkers, upholsterers, metalworkers and fitters. These are people who were distanced from the labour market and whom we have trained ourselves.

OPNIEUW! as a social enterprise

For us, striving for a better world means more than just tackling the waste problem. We believe it is valuable to give people who have been distanced from the labour market a chance. We do this by creating workplaces that can serve as training grounds or reintegration opportunities. But older employees who have been out of work for a long time are also given a new chance. In this way, we work together towards a cleaner, more sustainable world in which we care for the environment and for one another.
