A sufficient number of well-trained skilled workers for the metal industry. That is what OpleidingsBedrijf Metaal (OBM) stands for.
Without new staff, the future of metalworking companies is at stake. The OpleidingsBedrijf Metaal (OBM) was established in 2006 on the initiative of the Koninklijke Metaalunie and the OOM training fund to support metalworking and manufacturing companies in the region. Business owners can contact OBM with all manner of queries regarding the training and education of (new) employees. Together with regional training providers, OBM trains new (school-age) employees.
Unique Training Concept
Students trained through OBM follow a bespoke programme that is better tailored to the needs of metal companies. Our training programmes focus on professional practice. OBM students attend school for an average of two days a week, with one day of supplementary practical training (APS) at one of our practical training centres. Here, students work on their practical skills in professionally equipped workshops. Naturally, this is under the supervision of experienced practical instructors. In addition, they are monitored and supported throughout their training by both the ROC and OBM, ensuring the best possible chance of success.
