Kinderwoud provides more than 6,000 children with a wonderful day at nursery every day, across approximately 75 centres with over 700 staff members. We have the strength of a large organisation, but our often small-scale centres mean we are close to the children. Kinderwoud operates in eight municipalities in Friesland (Heerenveen, Tytsjerksteradiel, Sûdwest Fryslân, Opsterland, Harlingen, Fryske Marren, Weststellingwerf and Smallingerland).

At Kinderwoud, we firmly believe that quality childcare begins with a safe and secure environment, an appreciation of each child’s individuality, and ample space for children to flourish and develop. With us, every child is seen! Guided by our core values of Security, Individuality and Self-expression, we invite every child to discover new things, learn and develop through play in a warm and safe environment.

To ensure the best possible (brain) development, our childcare focuses on four key pillars: learning through play, physical activity, music and healthy nutrition. Together, these four pillars ensure that children’s development is optimally stimulated.
