Zijsling en Zonen BV, a dredging and contracting firm, has now been in business for 30 years.

Our family business has an open and informal corporate culture, with short lines of communication and a spirit of openness and transparency amongst us.
The company started in 1988 as a general partnership on Galamagracht in IJlst. After two years, in 1990, it moved to its current location at Riperwei 3 in Jutrijp. At that time, there was still a farmhouse on this site, but after a force 12 gale, it collapsed and it was no longer feasible to keep it. So the building was demolished and replaced with a house and a shed. The company started with a single crane vessel, the Noorman. Due to the high volume of requests and a forward-looking approach, the ‘floating fleet’ was soon expanded to include a pontoon vessel, the ‘Express’, and a hydraulic crane. Initially, the work was mainly carried out in Friesland.
Over the past 30 years, the company has experienced tremendous growth and we have developed into a major, reliable regional player within the dredging and contracting sector.
