Privacy Statement

In order to help you, as a company or job seeker, find each other as effectively as possible, we may ask you to provide personal information. We will provide you with sufficient information when we collect your personal information and ensure that you agree to this. We also try to limit the information we ask you to provide: we take your privacy very seriously. In order to provide you with the best possible service as WRK.frl/ and enable you to make optimal use of our tools, we collect and process (some or all) of the several types of information from you. We list them all below.

Job vacancy scraper

With the Job Scraper, we collect job vacancies and related information from employers on our website. This may include information such as company names, job descriptions, locations and contact details. The data collected via the Job Scraper is used to help job seekers find relevant vacancies on our website. This scraper also helps employers post vacancies on WRK.frl/ more quickly and easily. We display the scraped information in a clear manner to support job seekers and employers.

Why do we request/use this personal information?

We want to ensure that when you use the WRK.frl/ website, you have the necessary tools to find suitable vacancies and other professional opportunities. But we also want to give you access to relevant information that may be useful in deciding to live and work in Friesland. That is why, when requesting information from you, we rely on the legitimate interests of WRK.frl/ as the legal basis for collecting and using your personal data.

Each of our projects has a different purpose, but they are all focused on achieving our main goal. Based on the project(s) we currently have underway, some of the reasons why we request information from you are:

  • Providing you with information about job vacancies in Friesland, in Dutch;
  • Providing you with information about companies in Friesland;
  • Providing you with information about living, working and life in Friesland:
  • To inform you about career-related events in Friesland;
  • Inform you about new companies that have joined the platform;
  • Answering your questions regarding the various projects;
  • Answering your questions or providing information requested via our contact form;
  • Helping you find better corporate culture matches through our Matching Tool;
  • Using functionalities on our website;
  • Sending newsletters via email.

Addendum as of 15 September 2025
As of 15 September 2025, the entire application process will be conducted via WRK.frl/.

  1. When you apply via WRK.frl/, your details (CV, cover letter and any additional documents) will only be used to forward your application securely and directly to the employer.
  2. WRK.frl/ only stores this data for as long as is necessary to forward the application correctly and to ensure the functioning of the platform.
  3. In addition, WRK.frl/ processes anonymised and aggregated data on application behaviour for reporting and service improvement purposes. This data cannot be traced back to you as an individual.
  4. The employer is responsible for the further processing and follow-up of your application.

What we do with your information

  • Career events
    • We will notify you of events that match your selected criteria or that may be of interest to you based on your preferences.
    • To provide you with further information about a specific event, report on past events, or keep you informed about future events.
  • During WRK.frl events, images may be captured. If you do not wish to appear in these images, please inform us during the event or during registration (if applicable). The images may be used to report on the event or to draw attention to future events. If you object to a (digitally) published photo, please contact us using the information in the 'Contact' section of this policy. The material will be removed and/or modified as soon as possible.

Parties who have access to your information

In order for the WRK.frl platform to function properly, the following parties may have access to your personal information:

Your information may also be disclosed (in part) to the website administrator B2design for website maintenance purposes.

We will never disclose your personal information to third parties unless you have explicitly given your consent.

How we store and protect your personal information

WRK.frl/ has taken appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data stored on its platform is kept secure. This includes measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost or leaked, and to prevent unauthorised parties from accessing and/or using your personal data in an unauthorised manner, as long as your personal data is collected and processed by WRK.frl/.

The parties processing your information will do so in accordance with the measures approved by WRK.frl/en and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

If there is a (suspected) breach of information, we will notify you without delay.

Please be aware that sharing information over the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our utmost to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee that all transfers of information will be risk-free. Nevertheless, once we have received your information on our platform, we will use strict procedures and security features to prevent any action that could compromise it.

Your personal information will not be sold or shared with third parties; it will not be shared with commercial parties.

WRK.frl/ is not responsible if third parties copy, store or edit your data via website visits, whether automated or not.

Where we store your personal information

The provider used is Linqhost and their servers are located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

How long we retain your personal data

We will retain your personal data in our database until you decide to cancel your WRK.frl account or until you unsubscribe from our newsletters and other forms of communication.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of important rights regarding the personal information you have shared with us. These rights include:

  • Requesting an update or correction
  • Requesting the deletion of personal data from the platform
  • Object to the processing of your personal data at any time

If you have any questions or requests regarding the personal information you have shared with WRK.frl/, the WRK.frl/ team is always available to assist you. If you are dissatisfied with the way we have informed you about how we collect and process your personal information, we hope you will let us know so that we can provide you with a satisfactory solution.

Nevertheless, the General Data Protection Regulation also gives you the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in the European Union (or European Economic Area) country where you work, normally reside, or where any alleged breach of data protection legislation has occurred. WRK.frl/ is still under development, so not all parts will be launched at the same time. We therefore reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time. However, rest assured that any future changes to our policy will be communicated in a timely manner and made available to you as a user of WRK.frl/.
